I went to my first industry event on Thursday night.  I’ve been living in Los Angeles for three months, and there I was doing my first red carpet walk, swarmed by media.

As I stood on the worn strip of red carpet, all I could see was a teeming mass of colored bulbs and flashes.  I had stumbled upon an alien race on a foreign planet.  The inhabitants examined me.  They shouted unintelligible commands to me, and cold hands extended from the darkness to tug at the fabric of my dress.  I breathed deeply to steady myself and pushed my chest out, smiling my most brilliant smile.  The lights grew brighter, exploding periodically in a blinding cascade.  I turned my back to them, keeping a wary line of sight over my shoulder.  Again the flash.  And again.  I stuck out my tongue.  Another woman joined me on the carpet.  She put her proboscis on mine, and the flashes spasmed all around us furiously and drove us to blindness.

It was cool.

I also met a bunch of photographers and talent I had never met before.  I like, networked, and stuff.

Here, have some damn photos
